Have a blast in Havasu

Unlike most Santa Claritians(is that correct?) I didn’t grow up going to the River or the desert. I had never been to Havasu and as I got older I had zero desire to go party with everyone our age there. I also got pregnant at 22, so the party invites didn’t flow in. My husband on the other hand did grow up that way and suggested we take the kids and go.
It was May when we pulled the trigger and went. It was a last minute decision, like most of our plans. Making spur of the minute decisions is our specialty as a first responder family. We booked a cheap airbnb with the basics and made the 4 hour drive to Havasu City.
The airbnb was better than expected. It didn’t have a pool of anything fancy, but it was clean. The kids each had their own rooms and a table for distance learning. We did school in the morning while I tried to find a boat rental. May I suggest you never, ever try to book a same day boat rental in May or summer. I ended up finding a no frill boat guy. No deposit. Only pontoons, but it was a way to get on the water.
We had a blast! We found a special little cove where the kids could jump off rocks and swim safely. We ended up going back 3 times over summer. We became close with our pontoon guy and suggested him to everyone 😂 The kids are obsessed with “The Blue Chair” on the water. They suggest the “really good mac n cheese”. Yes, that’s what it’s called. We have also ate at “Juicys” in town a few times. The food is good and the staff was great.
When we went back with all 3 kids we stayed in my favorite airbnb. Still no pool but everything else. I especially enjoyed the jetted tub 😍 and the kids loved their bunk bed and toys. We watched disney+ after a long day on the water and bbqed dinner. It is so nice having somewhere you’re comfortable away from home. Our 3rd time we went through a first responder rental place and finally had a pool! We will definetly check these places out again this summer!
I will include our airbnbs below and our Pontoon guys info!
