Do what you have to do...

A couple weeks ago, a friend told me she was going to Utah and I suggested all these places to go and eat. She told me I should be a travel consultant and I ❤️ that idea!!! but.... life is weird right now. I have been my children’s “teacher,principal, and lunch lady” coming up on a year and have barely been able to do real estate due to this awesome amazing Covid-19 Pandemic. It’s been stressful and weird for all of us and especially parents. But today it clicked 💡 a travel Blog! That I can do right now.

Last year, after a couple months of complete isolation and quarantine, I snapped. I told my husband I needed to go somewhere, literally anywhere. I have a bbq place I am obsessed with that is out of Texas called Rudys BBQ. It‘s basically gas station BBQ and beer and it makes my heart happy. So, I pulled up a map and the closest one to us is Goodyear, AZ. I booked a “covid-19 cleaning procedures” airbnb that had a pool and mini golf in the back yard, packed my clorox wipes and all the kids school supplies and we went.

The kids did their distance learning in the car and then we had a dance party to Adams Family songs the rest of the drive. We met my husband there who came straight from work and didn’t leave the house the whole time.... except to pick up Rudys. We swam, we golfed, we watched tv, and we did school and it felt like freedom. It was the change of pace we needed to feel sane again.

After that trip I decided we could travel through all this madness. We just had to be careful and take the necessary pre cautions. When else would the kids be indefinetely home from school and be able to still make memories with their parents? Not everyone agrees that we should have gone anywhere and that is completely their right. I would never shame anyone for what they felt was best for their family. This worked for us the last year.
